    The Medical Records Technician will maintain facility medical records, provide for facility record keeping needs and assist facilities with necessary changes.


    • Check accuracy of between faxed facility orders and entered orders in QS1
    • Correct problems with order accuracy and/or communicate with Order Entry/Pharmacist to resolve the issue
    • Check miscellaneous queues daily for applicable facility orders
    • Faxes to be completed in timely manner – see
    • Enter and manage standing orders in QS1 with each admission, in accordance with the specific facility guide sheet
    • Enter and manage all non-drug orders in QS1 timely, in accordance with the specific facility guide sheet
    • Update allergy, diagnosis and primary MD as needed
    • Print, arrange and send monthly rewrite documents, flow records, facility specific forms to each facility as scheduled
    • Prepare and send rewrites for all new admissions and readmissions through the last day of the month
    • Triage incoming facility phone calls, determine cause of the concern / problem and resolve issue if possible or communicate the issue to the appropriate department resolution if necessary
    • Place phone calls to facility staff as needed to relay education, clarify concerns, gather information, etc.
    • Assist facility staff with requests as needed, including but not limited to requests for additional documents, reports, standing order changes, etc.
    • Print, organize and send forms when requested, including but not limited to new admission orders and facility specified flow sheets



    • Basic computer skills required, including use of email communication and word processing
    • Must be able to tolerate prolonged periods of working at a computer terminal and being stationery at a desk
    • Must be able to manage printer needs such as changing out paper when empty, changing forms, printer ribbons, etc.
    • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education helpful but not required
    • Medical, long term care or pharmacy experience helpful but not required
